Take the hassle out of meal time and have your pick of four dining options when you live on campus at UWinnipeg. It’s all part of a new food attitude that embraces local and seasonal ingredients, cultural menus, and old-fashioned scratch cooking.

Meal Plan Options
Three declining-balance meal card options are available to students: UWinnipeg Student Meal Plan, Visiting Scholars Meal Program, and Diversity Foods Gift Card.
Note that either a full Meal Plan or Meal Program subscription is required for all residents of McFeetors Hall. However, students with special religious and/or dietary requirements may request an exception to this requirement from the Manager of Campus Living (Food Services). To request an exception, please Download Meal Plan Exemption Form and submit it to the Food Services Manager.
UWinnipeg Student Meal Plan
Meal Plan options are available to any student enrolled at UWinnipeg, including student residents. Meal Plan purchases are tax-free and can be made at any of Diversity Food Services on campus. The benefit of a Meal Plan Card over a regular Gift Card is that food purchases made with the Meal Plan Card are tax-exempt. Not paying tax on your food means you save 12% on each purchase – almost $200 per term if you use the full amount of a meal card!
The Meal Plan is available only to registered UWinnipeg student and its use is neither transferable nor shareable. What this means is that only the meal place subscriber can purchase food for themselves, not for others. For more details about Diversity’s meal plan policies Read the Meal Plan Contract (PDF).
The Meal Plan is based on term sessions. Amounts for one term session (e.g. Fall, Winter, or Spring) expire at the end of each term session. For example, if a student has a balance of $200 at the end of Fall term session, this balance will not carry over to Winter term session.
The per-term session cost of the UWinnipeg Student Meal Plan for 2012-13 is $1500. This Meal Plan is included in the cost of Single and Double Premium Dorm rooms at McFeetors Hall. These dorm options are not available without a meal plan (except at the discretion of Diversity Food Services, as mentioned above).
Visiting Scholars Meal Program
The Visiting Scholar Meal Program is designed for non-UWinnipeg students living in McFeetors Hall. It is similar to the Meal Plan, except that its cost includes provincial and federal taxes. Visiting scholars are not eligible for the tax-exempt meal plan, per UWinnipeg’s agreement with the Provincial government on the matter.

Diversity Foods Gift Card
Gift Cards are available to anyone (including non-residents) from Pangea’s Kitchen, Diversity Food Service’s primary location in Riddell Hall. The minimum amount that can be loaded to the card is $25. This option is ideal for anyone who frequently purchases food on campus as paying with the gift card is quicker than any other method.
Food Service Locations
Diversity offers four locations to serve you: Pangea’s Kitchen, The Malecón, Café Bodhi, and Elements: The Restaurant.
Pangea’s Kitchen
Pangea’s Kitchen is the primary cafeteria of Diversity foods, offering a larger menu, greater seating area, and more extended hours than the other two locations on campus. Visit Diversity’s Facebook Page

Saturday – Sunday: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
The Malecón
The Malecón is on the fourth floor of Centennial Hall, beneath the Bernice Reading Room. This location’s menu focuses on bringing you dishes from international cuisines. The Malecón is closed on weekends.
Monday – Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Saturday – Sunday: Closed
Café Bodhi
Café Bodhi is in Lockhart Hall, near the Ellice Street doors. Deluxe coffee and espresso-based drinks, along with a variety of café-style snacks.
Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Saturday – Sunday: Closed
Elements
Elements is in The Richardson Complex on Furby-Langside Campus, right beside McFeetors Hall. Visit the Elements Facebook Page for more information.

Friday: 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Diversity Food Services is a joint venture of the University of Winnipeg’s Community Renewal Corporation’s (UWCRC) & SEED Winnipeg to deliver excellent food services to the University of Winnipeg while providing meaningful employment and ownership opportunities for the community.
